Brodarski Institute is a research and development institute in the field of applied technical sciences and technology. The Institute is a limited liability company in the ownership of the Republic of Croatia. It’s more than 60 years of experience in development of complex systems and products enabled it to develop a large specter of scientific disciplines, appropriate infrastructure and human resources. It is situated in the Croatian capital Zagreb on an area of 150.000 sq. meters, with 32.000 sq. meters of labs and offices and employs about 100 full time and 30 to 50 part time researchers.
Brodarski Institute activities cover four large industry segments:
- Marine technologies and waterways transport
- Control engineering
- Renewable energy production and ecological engineering
- Road transport
From year 2007 Numerical hydrodynamics department becomes integral part of Marine technologies and waterways transport activities. Although founded with intention to complement experimental marine hydrodynamics, very soon requests for conduction of numerical simulations in field of Civil Engineering have been emerged. Starting with fire simulations in sport centers, our activities rapidly extended to ventilation operation and CO extraction in underground parking garages and operation of data center cooling systems.
